Monobenzyl Ether Of Hydroquinone Cream In Pakistan
Monobenzyl Ether of Hydroquinone (MBEH), commonly known as Monobenzone, is a prescription topical depigmenting medication used primarily for people with extensive vitiligo. It works by permanently removing the remaining normal skin pigment so that the skin color becomes more uniform. Monobenzone is generally indicated for patients with widespread vitiligo, especially when a large portion of the body has already lost pigment. It is not typically recommended for cosmetic skin lightening, melasma, freckles, age spots, or other hyperpigmentation conditions. This cream is typically used when a doctor recommends complete or near-complete depigmentation in cases where vitiligo is widespread. It is considered a strong skin-lightening agent and should only be used under strict medical supervision.
How To Use
Apply a thin layer to pigmented areas 2–3 times daily as directed by a doctor
Rub gently until fully absorbed
Avoid contact with eyes and unaffected skin where possible
Wash hands after application unless treating hands
Key Benefits
Permanent depigmentation of normal pigmented skin
Used for widespread vitiligo to create an even tone
Reduces appearance of dark spots or uneven pigmentation
Acts gradually to lighten skin over weeks/months
Targets melanin-producing cells (melanocytes)
How It Works
Monobenzyl ether of hydroquinone works by destroying melanocytes (the cells responsible for producing skin pigment). This leads to a gradual and permanent reduction of pigmentation in treated areas, resulting in a lighter, more uniform skin appearance.
