Mederma Advanced Scar Gel is a topical gel treatment formulated to visibly improve the look of both new and old scars. It’s designed for use after wound healing (once the wound has closed and any scabs have fallen off) to address acne, surgical, burn, injury, and other skin trauma scars.
How It Works (Key Features & Action)
It uses a Unique TripleAction Formula to seal in moisture, renew skin cells, and aid collagen formation, helping scars become softer, smoother, and less visible.
Once daily application. For new scars, recommended use is at least 8 weeks; for older scars, treatment may continue 3 to 6 months for optimum results.
Ingredients
Active: Allantoin (0.5%) — known for soothing and promoting skin renewal.
Inactive / Other Key Ingredients: Water (purified), PEG 200, Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Allium cepa (onion) bulb extract, Lecithin, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragrance.
Usage & Precautions
Apply a thin layer of the gel once daily, gently massage until absorbed.
Start using as soon as the wound has closed and scab has naturally fallen off (not on open wounds or while stitches are still in place).
For new scars: expect to use for about 8 weeks.
External use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if irritation worsens or persists. Do not use on deep or puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns. Keep out of reach of children.
